Solving linear equations in one variable

Students solve a progression of linear equations with variables on both sides, including some with letter coefficients, and check each solution by substitution.

Students will be able to

  • Solve linear equations in one variable, including equations with variables on both sides.
  • Check a solution by substituting it back into the original equation.

Standards

  • Aligned to CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.HSA-REI.B.3 — Solve linear equations and inequalities in one variable, including equations with coefficients represented by letters.
